This months theme at Clarity Stamp is Love so I thought I would try some altered heart in the shape of a heart in the traditional red.
First of all I sealed the mdf with white gesso and when dry, painted a coat of dark coloured acrylic paint, a layer of glue then when almost dry a top coat of cream acrylic paint and left it to crackle.I really like this effect.
I did a bit of spraying with red diluted acrylic paint and let it dry. Using the Clarity wild grasses stencil I spread some coarse texture paste over it trying to get single grasses so I could build up my picture instead of using the stencil as a whole. I used the bubble stencil in a couple of places using red acrylic paint, flicked some red paint (shielding the grasses) and randomly adhered some beads. I also painted the side of the heart in red. As I didn’t have a love word stamp I die-cut some letters in white card and placed them at the top of the heart. Finally I pulled some satin ribbon through the hole at the top of the heart so I could hang it and attached a clarity butterfly which I had stamped on shrink plastic .
Thank you for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment if you wish.
